Nehru Zoological Park is one of the most iconic tourist places to visit in Hyderabad. It is also one of the largest zoos in India. The forest department of Government of Telangana runs the park. One of the well maintained, expansive and among the best zoos in Asia, the Nehru Zoological Park is home to more than 1,500 species of birds, animals, and reptiles. Located in the Bahadurpura area enroute the Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University in Rajendranagar region of Hyderabad, the zoo can be reached after crossing Afzalgunj and the High Court. The zoo hosts different species such as mynahs, white peacocks, African Elephants, chimpanzees and rhinoceros. The major attraction for visitors within the zoo is the Lion Safari. Here only one gate opens at a time and you will find yourself surrounded by an entirely different world of wild animals like lions, tigers, rhinos, panthers, wild oxen, etc. that roam freely in the wilderness of a jungle-like environment. The nocturnal animals and the reptiles constitute another interesting and exciting part of the whole experience.
Lumbini Park, officially T. Anjaiah Lumbini Park,[1] is a small public, urban park of 3 hectares (7.5 acres) adjacent to Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad, India. Since it is located in the centre of the city and is in close proximity to other tourist attractions, such as Birla Mandir and Necklace Road, it attracts many visitors throughout the year. Boating is one of the best part and people go to the Buddha idol placed in the middle of the tank band in the boats. Constructed in 1994, the park is named after the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh T. Anjaiah. The park is maintained by the Buddha Purnima Project Authority that functions under the directives of the Government of Telangana. In 2007, it was one of the targets of the 25 August 2007 Hyderabad bombings that killed 44 people.[
